AT1U (Cup Diameter 32.8mm / Bore 9.53mm)

This new mouthpiece designed by Aaron Tindall is the largest of the range, and is designed for use in CC or Bbb tubas. It has straight walls after the rim leading to a very wide funnel-shaped cup with a large throat. The rim is designed by Warren Deck and is one of the most comfortable on the market. It features just the right amount of width and bite to give the player a sense of comfort and stability. This mouthpiece is for strong players and produces a massive deep sound.

AT2U (Cup Diameter 32.8mm / Bore 9.53mm)

This new mouthpiece designed by Aaron Tindall is the most popular of the range, and is designed for use in CC and Bb tubas. It has a large cup which is a mixture of a funnel and a bowl with a large throat, and is slightly shallower than the AT1U. The rim is designed by Warren Deck and is one of the most comfortable on the market. It features just the right amount of width and bite to give the player a sense of comfort and stability. This mouthpiece produces a rich and vibrant sound with plenty of focus. There is a distinct ‘shelf’ at the bottom of the cup which helps achieve a concentrated power that gives a sound that really projects.

AT3U (Cup Diameter 32.8mm / Bore 8.20mm)

This new mouthpiece designed by Aaron Tindall is designed for use in all CC tubas. It has a deep Helleberg-style design with slightly straighter sides than the AT2U blending into a concave cup. The rim is designed by Warren Deck and is one of the most comfortable on the market. It features just the right amount of width and bite to give the player a sense of comfort and stability. AT4U (Cup Diameter 32.8mm / Bore 8.30mm)

This new mouthpiece designed by Aaron Tindall is designed for use in both rotary valve CC and F tubas. It has a bowl-shaped Fred Geib-style cup. Fred Geib (1871-1950) played tuba in the New York Philharmonic for, amongst others, Gustav Mahler and Richard Strauss. He designed mouthpieces for Gratz and C.G.Conn. His bowl-shaped mouthpiece design brings out the bestin rotary valve tubas, giving a great ‘core’ to the sound. The throat is medium-sized, which helps accurate pitching. It is designed for strong orchestral tuba players as it features a large cup which is a mixture of a funnel and a bowl with a quite large throat. This is an ideal mouthpiece for a strong orchestral player using the F tuba, but also works well on CC if theplayer likes the AT2 but wants a slightly smaller throat.
